Workshop on new consumer goods in Bamboo
This academic workshop aimed to translate cultural identity into new consumer products made in bamboo.
A research on material properties and traditional usage became the starting point to create new home accessories for the contemporary chinese market.
The course focussed on the hands on experience- we challenged the students to work and start the design process from the properties of bamboo and their inherited traditional material culture.
The 24 students had 14 days to design useful products, following our design approach.
A cultural experience for both sides.
